Nice starter digital metal detector For the money the Falcon GC1020 is a best buy, low priced, “digital” metal detector. I won’t go into all the various features but will tell you I did a lot of research. No… it’s not a Fisher, Tesoro or Whites… but, hell it’s not bad either and sells for hundreds less than the above named units with a digital readout. It does a good job at finding coins up to 6″ down, and the discriminating works well. Construction is solid. I got mine as a package with a set of headphones and a carry bag for under $100.! If you want a good, low cost detector with a digital readout to start out with, than this is the one. It just may give you the treasure hunting bug!

This detector is a GOLD COAST ( as in GC ) A little detective work provided some additional facts that were lacking in the product description. American Hawks II and/or American Hawks does not seem to exist. F&N (the company that distributes this detector)sells a wicked variety of stuff including condoms, sex toys, junk, plastic trash, et al., not that there is anything wrong with that, but I think a buyer should understand that they are buying this Asian import from any number of distributors, they’re not buying it from a manufacturer. You’ll find NO identifying marks on any of the shipping materials. The item was packaged very well. Inner packaged with an inner package in a F&N shipping carton. You’ll also find NO identifying marks on the detector itself and it will NOT look like the photo in the product description.
