This starter kit comes with a six gallon glass carboy, an eight gallon fermenting bucket, twin lever corker, hydrometer, 5′ of transfer hose and a bottle filler. You also get the added bonus of an auto-syphon that makes this kit unique. This is a kit that has a larger eight gallon bucket, as opposed the the six gallon, this allows the contents to stay in the fermenter when stirring or punching down.

Bottle filler – with auto-shut off, hydrometer – triple scale fermometer – adhesive thermometer for side of fermenter, 4′ of hosing for transferring the wine, airlock, #6.5 rubber stopper for carboy, 30 synthetic corks, 2 packets of sterilizer.

Pretty much all you need. This kit gives you pretty much everything you need to start making your own homemade wine. We did purchase a long spoon for wine making that goes into the carboy which didn’t come with this kit. You will need one to stir things up. We also got a drill attachment that cleans the carboy walls and/or wine bottles out for you and a handle for the carboy which is extremely heavy once it’s full so try to avoid moving it if you can. Other than that, I think this kit had everything we needed to make our first batch of wine. If you’re new to wine making, I suggest starting out with a wine kit. Most kits give you everything you need all pre-measured out in little packets along with juice concentrate from wine grapes (which smells exactly like welch’s grape juice so I’m not totally convinced that “wine grapes” are all that different than regular grapes) and detailed instructions on how to make your wine. If you want it to be a bit stronger, just add some sugar to the mix. We have…
